The Sackville-Dundas Apartments is the first capital project in a 15-year, multi-phase redevelopment of the entire Regent Park community, Canada’s oldest and largest social housing project. As such, the design of the Apartments addresses issues that are fundamental to Regent Park’s revitalization – the accommodation of diverse housing types and income levels; the articulation of a convincing and urbane response to density; and the integration of sustainable design principles.

Two conventional building types – a Point Tower and Mid-rise Apartment – are combined with a raised Garden Court and roof gardens to create a landmark with high degree of amenity for all residents, and a strong connection to the surrounding community. The Apartments have been designed to meet LEED® Gold criteria, with planted roofs, stormwater retention and management systems, energy-efficient appliances, and a power co-generation plant that will serve the entire 70-acre Regent Park community.
